Job Summary:
As a Restaurant Host, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment they enter the restaurant. You will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting and seating guests, and maintaining an organized flow of patrons. Your role is crucial in providing excellent customer service and enhancing the overall dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Reception:
- Greet guests with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Manage guest waitlists and reservations efficiently.
- Escort guests to their tables and provide menus.
Seating Management:
- Maintain an organized and efficient seating chart.
- Coordinate with the waitstaff to ensure timely seating.
- Handle special seating requests and accommodate guests' needs.
Reservation Management:
- Answer phone calls and manage online reservation systems.
- Confirm, modify, or cancel reservations as needed.
- Keep track of peak times and adjust seating plans accordingly.
Customer Service:
- Address guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests promptly.
- Provide accurate wait time estimates and keep guests informed.
- Resolve guest issues or escalate them to management when necessary.
Organization and Cleanliness:
- Ensure the host stand and lobby area are clean and welcoming.
- Monitor and manage the flow of guests to minimize wait times.
- Keep track of guest preferences and special occasions.
Team Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management.
- Assist with training new hosts as needed.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role preferred but not required.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and a friendly demeanor.
- Appearance: Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with reservation and POS systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capability to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Good vision and hearing to communicate effectively with guests and staff.
Working Conditions:
- Work in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
