Title: Technical Supervisor - Tracer Diagnostics
Location: Sterling Heights - this position is located at the Stellantis Sterling Heights Assembly plant

Shift: 3rd -10pm -6am
Pay Rate: $60-$70/hour

Type of Hire: 12-month assignment with possible extension

Summary:

The Technical Supervisor - Tracer Diagnostics is responsible for managing the Vehicle Diagnostic Experts (Specialists) and overseeing their activities during assigned shifts. This full-time, onsite role at the plant requires strong leadership and hands-on supervision to ensure the effective diagnosis and repair of electrical failures in vehicles. The Supervisor will support the plant in achieving Electrical First Time Quality (EFTC) during vehicle program launches and will ensure adherence to Tweddle & Stellantis processes. The role involves close collaboration with both salaried and hourly personnel, as well as cross-functional teams, to expedite repairs and address root causes of electrical issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Supervision: Manage and coordinate the activities of assigned Specialists during their shifts, ensuring that they assist Plant Repair Technicians (Techs) with diagnosing and repairing electrical failures.
  • Process Adherence: Ensure compliance with Tweddle & Stellantis processes, including the use of the Tracer Electrical Guided Diagnostics System to identify defects, capture root causes, and document repair notes.
  • Problem Resolution: Address issues with UAW Techs by promptly notifying Stellantis and Tweddle management, escalating further if necessary.
  • Vehicle Diagnosis: Support the plant's Electrical End of Line (EOL) Patio Process by performing rapid vehicle diagnoses and assisting Techs in accelerating the repair process.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the plant's cross-functional teams (e.g., Quality Engineers, SQD, manufacturing) to provide feedback on defects and support corrective actions.
  • Training and Development: Provide coaching and training to Techs on using Tracer and diagnostic tools; conduct in-service training for Specialists as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records and reports as necessary, and monitor tools, equipment, maintenance, and safety practices.
  • New Employee Integration: Assist in the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of new employees, providing feedback on their work as necessary.
  • Safety: Establish and enforce shop safety policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of previous experience in automotive repairs and electrical diagnostics.
    • Previous experience as a mechanic/diagnostic Tech or in a supervisory role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in computer skills, including office systems and applications (e.g., Microsoft 365).
    • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity, fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Stellantis vehicles, particularly the 2025 Ram 1500 or similar models, including their electrical architecture.
  • Familiarity with the plant's assembly process, electrical testing, and key processes related to electrical systems and components.
  • Experience working in an assembly plant environment, comfortable with its fast-paced and demanding culture.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
