An Am Law 100 law firm is seeking a Patent Agent with an engineering or computer science degree and at least two years of experience in patent drafting and prosecution to join our Intellectual Property group.
This is a hybrid position based in the firm’s Boston, MA office, with an expectation to work in the office 1-2 days per week.
A Day in the Life:
As a Patent Agent, you will collaborate with attorneys and clients across various industries, including medical devices and marine technologies. A strong technical background in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or a related field is preferred. You will leverage your patent prosecution experience to develop and manage U.S. and international patent portfolios, partner with attorneys to provide tailored solutions for clients with diverse needs, draft and prosecute patent applications, conduct due diligence investigations, and perform freedom-to-operate and landscape analyses.
There is a 1650 billable hour requirement.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of two years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution.
- An undergraduate degree in engineering.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent writing and analytical skills.
- Registration to practice before the USPTO.
- Technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, biomedical, or a related field is preferred.
