POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Under minimal supervision, assures the company maintains proper qualifications/certifications and training and develops/certifies procedures to meet customer, government, and company requirements

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Process Technician – Panel Fabrication-Foil/Ribbon

1) Provides technical, operational and process support to perform all foil line operations in accordance with requirements.

2) Operates, sets up and troubleshoots any issues on strand annealer, pickle line, ribbon feed, EDM and applicable operations.

3) Can troubleshoot issues on pickle line and perform basic maintenance to fix any issues.

4) Expedites test specimens through work center. Evaluates test results and determines disposition.

5) Machine/process setup - will make necessary setup of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and electrical systems. Will validate tooling and material condition.

6) Product Certification – works with weld engineer to setup machine and process parameters in order to produce product characteristics that meet requirements.

7) Creates and files applicable certification documentation. Maintains a certification tracking system to ensure compliance with recertification testing.

8) Process Specification/Certification documentation - Develops welding procedures and techniques. Monitors/expedites development testing and evaluates the testing. Assists in the qualification of machines and operators by maintaining material stock, creating planning, tracking qualification packages, and preparing documentation.

9) Tooling maintenance – maintains an inventory of tooling and will commission the fabrication of new tooling or the refurbishment of worn tooling in the foil and ribbon areas

10) Machine operation - writes and maintains operator setup documents and process sheets

11) Prepares and implements operator training, including academic and performance testing. Creates training materials, coordinates and conducts training.

12) Reviews processes for optimal performance

13) Is responsible for process control, monitoring and improvement

14) Troubleshooting – reviews discrepancies and uses analytical problem solving to identify and recommend changes to processes that address root cause. Abilities must include machine capability knowledge and process variables, machine mechanical setup, hydraulic systems, basic electrical, basic electronic, machine control logic, understanding of tooling condition and setup.

15) Provides equipment support and maintenance assistance.

16) Assists in the maintenance, modification, and improvement of foil and ribbon equipment where needed to support company objectives.

17) Will coordinate with Electronics, Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance team, activities to repair and/or change components.

18) Requisitions and stocks adequate quantities of Machine accessories for setup, tools, and consumables and hardware

19) Assists in the development and maintenance of a business culture, which supports the Company's overall business objectives and goals, in issues that involve “safety, quality, delivery, cost and people development”

20) Ensures the company's commitment to maintain a safe workplace and to protect the environment through the establishment and support of Company policy and adherence to various government regulations.

21) Performs other duties, tasks and responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

 

Education

 

High School diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

Requires minimum of 7 years experience in the field of process focus. Must have good communication skills and be able to train operators and maintain certification documents. Computer proficiency is desirable.

· Ability to stand for long periods of time

· Lift up to 50 pounds

· Withstand loud noise of a machine shop environment
