Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of our 24/7 manufacturing facility, ensuring that production processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role requires a dynamic leader who can manage a team, optimize production workflows, and maintain high standards of quality. The Production Manager will collaborate closely with other departments to align production goals with business objectives. 
 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Production Management: 
  • Oversees all aspects of the production process, from raw material handling to finished product output. 
  • Develops and implements production schedules to meet company targets and customer demands. 
  • Monitors production activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. 
  • Analyzes production data and metrics to identify areas for process optimization. 
  • Troubleshoots production issues and implements effective solutions to minimize downtime. 
  • Collaborates with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams and other stakeholders to improve product quality and efficiency. 
  • Manages production training & certification program. 
  • Performs operator loading analysis and determines appropriate staffing levels. 
  • Creates and monitors production budgets and performs variance analysis. 
  • Team Leadership: 
  • Leads and mentors a team of production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. 
  • Allocates resources effectively to optimize productivity and meet production targets. 
  • Fosters a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing. 
  • Identifies and develops talent within the team, supporting professional growth. 
  • Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback to team members. 
  • Identifies training needs and works with HR to enhance supervisor skill sets. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in production management or related field in manufacturing operation. 
  • Prior people management experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Advanced degree or certifications in production management or a related field. 
  • Experience in materials processing or superconducting materials or semiconductor industry. 
  • Experience in highly technical manufacturing operation.   
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 

  • Ability to proactively identify and communicate risks and timelines to senior management. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills. 
  • High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. 
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Proficiency in office software, including Microsoft Office Suite. 

 

Physical Demands
This position requires frequent standing, walking, reaching with arms, using hands, talking, and hearing. Some sitting, climbing, stooping, crawling, or crouching will be needed.
Frequent lifting/carrying/moving of up to 10 pounds will be needed and in some instances lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds will be required.
The ability to adjust vision focus from near to far and peripheral is needed as well as the ability to distinguish the difference in colors.
