Infusion Coordinator/ Medical Assistant

Highly successful South Florida medical practice offers an exciting opportunity for an Infusion Coordinator/Medical Assistant.  Must be experienced in medical field and motivated.  We thrive in a cooperative team environment and are seeking an employee with the ability to multitask, pay attention to detail, with super.

Requirements:

·         Experience in obtaining medical referrals.

·         Ability to work in a team environment.

·         Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is preferred.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for obtaining authorizations for infusions and specialty medications.  Regulating and maintaining an infusion schedule. Assists physicians with patient care and medical issues. 

Additional responsibilities include:

·         Assisting patients in obtaining financial assistance

·         Managing patient medication and deliveries

·         Counsel patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about procedures.

·         Verify patient demographics and insurance status.

·         Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary.

·         Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; keeping patient information confidential.

·         Assist in authorizing medical procedures, medications & lab requests.

·         Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

·         Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

·         Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
