Overview:

We are seeking a Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our team at a busy Podiatry medical office. The ideal candidate should have experience with medical scheduling and referrals, checking insurance, EMR systems, patient service, and working in a medical office environment.

Responsibilities:

- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
- Schedule patient appointments and referrals using medical scheduling software
- Accurately check and verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays and balances

- Check emails and electronic faxes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed

Experience:

- Previous experience in a medical setting is required

- Experience with verifying insurance on systems such as Availity
- Knowledge of EMR software with 40 WPM or above typing skills
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy practices
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
