Job Title: Test Technician
Location: Irvine, CA
Duration: 6 months contract (May extend depending on the client needs)
Work schedule: 1st shift Monday - Friday

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up vibration plates and perform a range of routine mechanical and electromechanical testing on small parts or components according to company instructions and procedures.
  • Review shop traveler route cards or schematic drawings to ensure the correct sequence of operations.
  • Conduct various tests to verify circuitry and test the effectiveness of components in amplifiers and electronic equipment.
  • Troubleshoot circuits and components using schematic drawings and prints, receiving parts or units from customers as needed.
  • Set up test equipment, perform diagnostics, and analyze results using tools like oscilloscopes, DVMs, signal generators, power meters, network analyzers, and other related test equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and failure analysis of analog and digital circuitry malfunctions down to the micro-component level, providing detailed failure descriptions and root cause analysis to production and engineering.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhere to company guidelines, and ensure regular, consistent, and punctual attendance, including possible nights, weekends, and variable schedules.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  • Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field
  • 2 years or more of relevant experience
  • Strong electrical background with understanding of microelectronics.
  • Strong knowledge in testing, debugging and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies
  • Good reading and comprehension skills to understand regulations and instructions
  • Ability to analyze and determine methods and procedures
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient Microsoft Windows software applications
