Job Highlights

Align Foot and Ankle (AFA) is a boutique podiatry practice that is patient focused with community in mind, in a beautifully renovated second floor office overlooking water views. AFA is seeking a Medical Assistant to become a part of our team. The Medical Assistant will have the opportunity to start at the ground floor of a fast growing practice. They will have the ability to advance their career in a role they can call a career, not just a job.

Qualifications

  • Valid Drivers License Required
  • 3+ Years Experience in clinical Medical Assisting a major plus
  • Certified Medical Assistant experience a major plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient in EMR, Athena or similar EMR
  • Experience in Medical Insurance billing & authorization
  • Experience in surgery scheduling
  • Cosmetology Experience a plus
  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively interact with patients in stressful situations
  • Strong leadership, organization, marketing & public relations skills
  • Ability to participate marketing including event hosting, social media development, lunch and learns
  • In Office training with ability to perform injections, casting, bracing, gait analysis, 3D scanning, suture removal

Responsibilities

  • Meet all standards for end to end business operations with focus on front desk operations.
  • Supervise patient flow from initiation of new patient to checkout, including time of service collections.
  • Ensure quality measures including compliance, safety, patient satisfaction and staff productivity.
  • Cleaning and preparing exam rooms before patient appointments.
  • Sending samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Plan, coordinate & confirm patient appointments.
  • Keep inventory records and restock as needed.
  • Oversee and manage all paperwork for patient care, medical compliance and all levels of reporting.
  • Supervise cleaning staff and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and arrange information materials for patients.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare laws, rules and regulations.
  • Initially take on back office clinical role such as rooming patients, X-ray, intact paperwork, checkout.
  • Update patient records.
  • Calculating billing amounts.
  • Surgical & procedure overview in the process of obtaining surgical content with patients.
