Quality Inspector

Able Tool / Planet Products Corporation is currently seeking a skilled and experienced ISO Quality Inspector for our Inspection Department. A qualified candidate will be able to work in a high mix, low volume job-shop environment. We offer competitive wages, 401(k), vacation, health, dental and vision and many other great benefits.

Quality Inspector Job Purpose: To act as an in-house advocate for our customers. To ensure we meet the quality expectations of our customers by thoroughly examining our deliverables to make sure they match the stated requirements. To act as an in-house checkpoint for first article inspections to ensure our in-process parts are being made to specifications.

Job Duties:

  • Read and understand blueprint specifications and be familiar with GD&T
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced
  • Measure products using calipers, gauges, micrometers, CMM and other inspection equipment
  • Mark, tag, or note problems
  • Accept or reject finished items
  • Discuss inspection issues with management
  • Prepare inspection reports when required
  • Ensure that all quality check procedures are followed
  • Uphold Safety and Quality Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure inspection tooling is properly calibrated and maintain calibration records

Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ minimum experience as a quality inspector in a machine shop environment
  • ISO experience
  • Good attention to details and recording keeping
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints using GD&T
  • Ability to use calipers, micrometers, thread/plug/ring gages and CMM’s
  • Familiarity with PC-DMIS and/or MSCOSMOS a plus
