Title: Hardscaping/Project Manager

My client is a family-owned, all-season, design-build-maintain landscaping company with over 30 years of excellence. Serving over 500 clients, we’re dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through exceptional landscaping. We are homegrown, locally minded, and passionate about creating beautiful outdoor spaces.

About the Role: As our Hardscaping/Project Manager, you’ll manage and lead small and large construction projects, oversee teams, and ensure our high standards are met. This role involves the many obstacles and directions projects can take; from scheduling, securing materials, keeping on budget, site prep, coordinating deliveries, laying out locations, conveying to the team the customer expectations and vision, leading installations, and maintaining clear two-way communication with designer / sales team and customer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • · Lead and manage the Landscape Construction Division.
  • · Clear understanding of work to be done via plans, sketches, job sheets, internal meetings and client meetings.
  • · Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to perform work activities.
  • · Communicate project details with the crew and keep them on an applicable timeline to complete the job on time.
  • · Plan and manage labor, equipment, and material needs for projects.
  • · Take a step ahead and have materials ready in the staging area for efficiency.
  • · Supervise and train crew members.
  • · Ensure adherence to safety procedures and quality standards.
  • · Collaborate with designers to lay out projects on-site.
  • · Maintain quality control with regular on-site inspections.
  • · Identify and address any issues promptly to maintain project integrity.
  • · Communicate effectively internally and with clients.
  • · Following up and being responsible for special requests, time-sensitive work, etc.
  • · Lead construction and repair of patios, walkways, walls, fire pits, drainage and other hardscapes on larger projects
  • · Mentor and guide Crew Leaders to lead efficient and high-quality jobs when alone.
  • · Monitor, inspect and address issues with existing hardscapes.
  • · Maintain accurate job sheets and project notes and make sure the project is on budget.
  • · Assist with snow management in winter.

Requirements:

  • · Minimum of 10 years’ experience in landscape construction.
  • · Strong New England fieldstone work experience.
  • · Proficient with pavers, block walls, veneer, fire pits, and outdoor kitchens/rooms.
  • · Leadership and task delegation skills.
  • · Familiarity with cloud-based software.
  • · Excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • · Professional, energetic, and strong work ethic.
  • · Self-starter with problem-solving abilities.
  • · Strong manual dexterity and stamina and ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • · A valid driver’s license is a must and MA hoisting license and DOT medical exam needed or willingness to obtain.
  • · Fluent in English; Spanish is a bonus.
