Our client, a distributor of musical equipment based in Bensalem, PA, is presently seeking an HR Manager to join their team. Reporting to the General Counsel and VP of Administration, the HR Manager will direct and manage all phases of HR for ninety employees and be responsible for developing and implementing both strategic and operational HR activities.

This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite in our client’s Bensalem, PA office. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am-5:15pm.

Responsibilities:

·        Develops and recommends appropriate human resources strategy, programs, and processes to support the business strategy.

·        Recruits, interviews, and assists management in the selection of employees to fill vacant positions. 

·        For employee hiring and termination, plans and conducts new employee orientation, as well as conducts departing employee exit interviews from time to time.

·        Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance. Advises General Counsel regarding same.

·        Works with General Counsel to develop and implement management training as needed.

·        Point person for all employee complaints and employee relations issues.  Conducts investigations and makes recommendations to management for resolution, including suggesting changes as needed.

·        Responsible for the development and communication of all HR policies and procedures, and for keeping the company Handbook up to date.  Ensures compliance with regulatory authorities.  Responds to employee and management inquiries regarding specific policies, procedures, and programs.

·        Administers annual performance review program.

·        Administers and manages payroll to ensure compliance and equity within organization, including preparation of related reports, disbursements of garnishments, reconciliation of the payroll account, and the proper entry of employee taxes.  

·        Works closely with outside brokers to ensure competitiveness of benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, 401k plan, and paid time off. Administers and implements benefits programs as required.

·        Represents organization in hearings and investigations.

·        Assists management in all issues relating to workplace health, safety, and security. Responsible for employee time clock system.

·        Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

 

·        Education/Certification: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. SHRM Certification is a plus.

·        Experience:

o   8-10 years of HR Generalist experience (including payroll.)

o   Experience working within a Distribution or Manufacturing environment is desired.

o   Demonstrated ability to deliver HR operational and service requirements.

·        Knowledge:      Demonstrated Success in Recruitment, Retention, Organization Effectiveness, Change Management, Employee Relations, Training/Development, Compensation and Benefits.

·        Skills/Abilities:             

o   Strong computer skills including Microsoft office suite, and ability to work with various HR software (payroll systems, time, and attendance systems, etc.) Experience with isolved payroll software is a plus, but not required.

o   Familiarity with state and federal employment laws and compliance issues.

o   Highly detail oriented.

o   Strong emphasis on the need for confidentiality in role.
