Role Overview: As their Control Systems Specialist, you will spearhead the design and implementation of microcontroller-based control systems for electrical boilers, integrated hybrid hydronic systems, and plenum heaters. Your role is crucial in ensuring their products meet the highest standards of safety, performance, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and application of microcontroller-based control systems, collaborating with internal and external design teams.
- Select and specify components for load switching, temperature and flow sensing, zone control, water pumping, and air movement systems.
- Translate product requirements into design specifications, guiding cross-functional teams through the product development process.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control systems to meet safety standards and performance benchmarks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during development, testing, and post-production phases.
- Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and partners on control system functionality and troubleshooting.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee field testing of new appliances and control features to ensure successful market introduction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing microcontroller-based control systems, preferably in HVAC.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Strong knowledge of control theory, signal processing, and feedback control systems.
- Proficiency in microcontroller programming (C/C++) for firmware modifications.
- Experience with electronic hardware testing, simulation tools, and data acquisition.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of industry standards (UL, ANSI, CE) for electrical heating and control systems.
