Overview of Responsibilities:
The Help Desk Support Intern is a student employee that assists the Help Desk Team provide quality technology support under the direct supervision of the IT Department Manager
The Help Desk Support Intern will be required to gain proficiency with many of the internal systems, in order to help end users with technical issues and generate technical and end user documentation.
The Help Desk Support Intern will be exposed to a variety of systems and needs to have the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assists the Help Desk team to deliver technology support
- Assist with the deployment of new equipment
- Assist with software installs
- Assist in collecting information for the equipment inventory
- Assist in printer issues
Goals:
- Learn some of the many facets of Information Services and Technology
- Hands on learning experience in the technology arena
- Learn how to work with different types of personalities
Professional Qualifications:
- Basic PC repair experience
- Exceptional communication skills
- Strong ability to document step by step instruction and technical specifications
- Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficient with MS Word, Outlook, Adobe and MS Excel
- Proficient with Email, Search Engines and Web browsers
