Job Summary

CarMax is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing mechanical and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal vehicles in accordance with CarMax standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute CarMax Standardized work
  • Perform engine repairs, advance engine performance, and drivability
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, manual drive train, and axle issues
  • Inspect vehicles per CarMax Quality Standards
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide general support to store operations to maintain vehicle inventory and meet quality standards
  • Support sales by helping to assess vehicle condition during the condition assessment process
  • Set up and coordinate handling of vehicles with on lot and off lot sublet vendors
Requirements
  • ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension, Brakes, Heating Air Conditioning, Electrical, Engine Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles, and Engine Performance
  • Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records
  • Manual dexterity in both arms and hands
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
