We are looking for a person to join our team in Virginia. This person will be a Project Safety Manager for the General Contractor on a large construction site, working for GEWllc. This position consists of 50-hour work week minimums (40-hour holiday weeks) with overtime paid after 40 hours. Per diem is provided if outside of a 50-mile radius of the project. This project is ongoing and could last up to 1+ years. Pay is DOE. Person will be subject to drug and alcohol testing. Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred but not required. There are Multiple sites/positions we are filling for this General Contractor Client they include: Clarksville, Sterling and Richmond

YOUR ROLE

* Oversee site safety coordinators for the GC as well as Sub-Contractors on site.

· Assist site leadership in the implementation of safety, health, and environmental programming to ensure compliance with various regulatory, Owner and site policies and standards being used onsite.

· Support Site Leadership with the implementation of safety programs, policies, and improvement programs.

· Assist local leadership in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

· Perform incident investigations, including root cause identification and recommended corrective actions. Track and follow up on corrective action to ensure timely completion.

· Assist in performing and coordinating various risk assessments.

· Assist leadership in communicating policy changes to all employees.

· Assist other employees in developing reports and recommendations.

· Assists in the development of site safety and environmental policies, set goals and improvements; perform training.

· Perform site safety and health audits; Job Hazard and Safety Analysis; new review processes, SDS program and other needs as they arise.

· Actively engage employees and be involved in site safety committees.

* Develop monthly report for the clint

· Performs other safety related duties as assigned.

 

YOUR SKILLS

· Degree in Safety, Construction safety Certificate, and 5+ years of experience in construction safety supervision.

· Proficient with Microsoft Office.

· Ability to work effectively with operations management and staff.

· Ability to solve a broad range of complex problems.

· Ability to utilize approaches that require innovation and change.

· Well-developed planning and organizational skills including the ability to work independently, prioritize activities, meet commitments, and proactively manage time and generally manage travel and a challenging workload.

* Ability to walk the project, climb ladders and walk over gravel pathways.
