Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping patients gain access to the medications and therapies they need by working with healthcare providers, patients, payors, and pharmacies to gather information about insurance coverage. Your expertise will help navigate complex reimbursement barriers and ensure timely access to necessary treatments.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct benefit investigations by making outbound phone calls to payors to verify patient insurance benefits, navigate reimbursement barriers, and seek resources to overcome obstacles
  • Verify patient-specific benefits, including coverage, cost share, and access/provider options
  • Identify coverage restrictions and provide details on how to expedite patient access
  • Document prior authorization processes and claims appeals
  • Report reimbursement trends or delays in coverage to management
  • Assign cost-sharing solutions or refer patients to special programs/services as needed
  • Communicate benefit investigation results to healthcare providers and patients in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Science, Finance, or Business preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in benefit investigation, insurance coverage analysis, or healthcare-related field
  • 3-5 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers regarding health insurance plan requirements
  • Pharmacy background, call center, or MD office experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and grammar
  • Computer literacy/competence
  • Experience with Salesforce system an asset

Shift Availability:

We offer various shifts to fit your schedule:

Monday-Friday: 9am-6pm (1 hour lunch)

Monday-Friday: 10am-7pm (1 hour lunch)

Monday-Friday: 11am-8pm (1 hour lunch)

Monday-Friday: 12pm-9pm (1 hour lunch)

Weekends: Saturday-Sunday (9am-5:30pm) with consistent days off during the week (select two days off at time of offer acceptance)
