Door Technician

Overview:

• I am looking for the right candidate that is worth a $1,500 signing bonus (restrictions apply)
• We have a family owned business and I am looking to add an experienced door technician to our team.
• I am looking for a lead service technician/installer for all types of commercial overhead doors, pedestrian doors, security gates, fencing, and operators.
• Our work area is mainly Chicago and the surrounding suburbs.
• We are a preferred service vender that has successfully completed 500 work orders in the last 18 months.
• Our hard work and dedication to fixing the job right the first time has earned us more work than we can handle on our own and now is the time to expand our base and keep growing with the right addition to our company.
• Drywall contractor or employee able to turnkey finish repairs needed. 1099 contracts available.

Responsibilities:

• Work well independently, and communicate with others. You will be speaking with managers of retail and commercial locations.
• Work well with a helper or crew, depending on the job, no two days are the same.
• Repair, replace and/or install all types of commercial overhead doors, gates, fencing, pedestrian doors, and their operating systems.
• Must have knowledge and practice of proper tool and equipment use and care.
• Must have own insured vehicle that can carry small parts and your tools to use when company vehicle is unavailable on the days you are working alone.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair equipment promptly to ensure minimum downtime.
• If parts or complete replacement is needed, identify and document all necessary parts and/or complete measurement drawings before leaving worksite.
• Complete work orders on company provided tablet.
• Keep logs and report on daily activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

• Proficiency in mechanical diagnosis and repair.
• Diagnose problems, install new, or replace; existing overhead doors, pedestrian doors, security gates, fencing, and other types of property maintenance on commercial and retail properties.
• Ability to work independently, and/or with a helper or crew depending on the job.
• Ability to adapt, every day will be different, no two days are the same.
• Strong supervisory skills for overseeing projects.
• Read and sign off on construction drawings.
• Fluency in English for effective communication.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting overhead door and gate operators as well as pedestrian door hardware.
• Use app based work order system to complete jobs.
• Available to take emergency/overtime calls. We currently get anywhere from 3 to 10 emergency service calls per week. Excellent earning potential, we get emergency calls from Chicago to Indianapolis.
• Drywall repair, finishing and painting skills in addition to the listed skills will take top priority and will be considered for immediate employment.
