The Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct patient care and support to our healthcare team. This individual will be responsible for performing administrative and clinical tasks, promoting a positive and welcoming patient experience, and maintaining accurate medical records. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by taking vital signs, recording medical history and chief complaint, and assisting with procedures as needed
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the physician or healthcare provider
- Perform phlebotomy and collect lab specimens as requested
- Document patient care activities accurately and timely in electronic medical records
- Assist with managing and organizing patient flow in the clinic
- Coordinate referrals and communicate with specialists, healthcare facilities, and pharmacies as needed
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with HIPAA laws and regulations
- Provide patient education and instruction on treatment plans, medications, and preventative care measures
- Perform other administrative and clinical tasks as assigned by the physician or healthcare provider
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Previous experience working in a medical office or clinic preferred
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills and experience with electronic medical records
- Ability to maintain a professional and empathetic demeanor with patients and their families
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a healthcare team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
Salary: $15 - $20 per hour
