ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Project Estimation & Budgeting:

• Lead the development of conceptual and detailed estimates for all landscape construction projects, including hardscapes, irrigation, and design.
• Produce conceptual and programmatic estimates, leveraging historical cost data to refine and adjust estimates as necessary.
• Review and analyze project documents, including bid instructions, scopes of work, and drawings, to ensure accuracy and completeness in the estimation process.
• Utilize your expertise with our project management and estimation tools to create accurate takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.

Preconstruction Planning:

• Direct and manage all aspects of the bidding process for landscape construction projects, ensuring a comprehensive approach to preconstruction activities.
• Attend client interviews and preconstruction walkthroughs, documenting existing job site conditions to inform accurate and feasible project plans.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive preconstruction plan, coordinating project milestones, material requirements, labor needs, and equipment logistics.

Client, Vendor, and Subcontractor Engagement:

• Represent the team in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with General Contractors, Clients, Landscape Architects, Subcontractors, and Suppliers.
• Act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on project feasibility, cost-saving opportunities, and innovative solutions.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to secure the best pricing, terms, and services for project materials and services, leading to additional construction and maintenance contracts.
• Oversee the procurement process, ensuring all materials and services are delivered on time and within budget, while addressing any issues that arise during the estimation and bidding process.

Risk Management & Quality Control:

• Ensure estimates are accurate and comprehensive, actively managing project risks and controlling design to maintain scope within budgetary limits.
• Monitor and control design processes to prevent cost overruns, ensuring that previous estimates are not exceeded.
• Maintain and update bid logs and project change order logs, ensuring accurate documentation and tracking throughout the project lifecycle.

 

Continuous Improvement:

• Leverage data and insights from Aspire to refine estimation processes, enhance accuracy, and drive efficiency in project planning.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to ensure RWNL remains a leader in landscape construction.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field is preferred, or commensurate experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of experience in landscape construction estimation and preconstruction, with a proven track record of success.
• In-depth experience with Aspire ERP system is strongly preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Strong understanding of landscape installation, hardscapes, irrigation systems, and design principles.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools, knowledge in Aspire is a plus.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
