Our client is an industry/global leader in fragrances as well as taste. Their sole purpose is to provide customers with a broad range of solutions that match the demand for clean, organic, and natural ingredients. This company is looking for a Flavor Assistant to join the team. This is an amazing opportunity to work with one of the biggest companies in the flavor and fragrances industry.

 

Shift: M-F 8a-5p

Type: 3-6 contract with potential of extension/conversion

Pay: $22/hr

 

Follow established procedures and guidelines to prepare flavor samples and take part in flavor evaluations and testing, to support effective creation and processes, according to business goals and EH&S policies.

 

Responsibilities:

· Prepare flavors as requested for customer briefs, applications need, technology performance assessment, QC standards, physical testing, etc.

· Prepare flavors using parr reactors, kettles, high shear mixers, blenders and other applicable equipment and instruments.

· Act as the main point of contact to provide timely flavor samples for other labs and functions.

· Maintain all required formula records and brief documentation in company database software (Athena, Atlas, Lot Number records, etc.)

· Maintain organized and updated stock of raw materials, ingredients, lab, and office supplies in the shared workspace.

· Assist in setting up flavors for tasting, and for in lab taste panels and other requested situations.

· Participate in the evaluation of flavors in food products and provide flavor performance feedback.

 

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology

· Bachelor’s Degree: minimum 0-2 years of experience in a food applications lab, production, or related area

· Basic knowledge of lab equipment and handling chemicals used to perform lab functions.

· Ability to follow flavor formulations and to blend flavors with speed and accuracy.
