 The company is searching for an experienced General / Operations Manager with the ability to oversee and manage all aspects of the restoration, construction, roofing, and equipment rental business operations consisting large, medium, and small-scale projects for a variety of clients simultaneously in the South Florida market.  Projects range in size from $5,000 to $5,000,000+.

Job Description:

 The General Manager / Operations Manager will be responsible for communicating with clients and working with the Senior Project Manager and Project Managers in each division to oversee all construction operations. This includes performing and/or overseeing project estimating, proposals, staffing, scheduling, documenting and tracking, safety, and proper and timely billing.  Moreover, ensure that projects are completed on schedule, within estimate guidelines, and to the client’s complete satisfaction.

 

A significant number of jobs are time and material which will require a review to ensure all forms are submitted to the project through the automated ERP system and all expenses are properly allocated to each job.  The jobs must be closed out as soon as possible to submit to billing.  In addition, this position will have responsibilities of managing construction budgets and schedules, selecting, and managing subcontractors, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations, and maintaining construction sites’ quality and safety for jobs.  Moreover, they ensure that projects are completed on time, within estimated budget, and are properly and timely submitted to the billing department.

Responsibilities include:

·       Review all project’s scope of work and estimates for proper pricing.

·       Review proper project set-up, tracking, and completion documentation.

·       Manage staffing for all projects including project managers, supervisors, technicians, temporary employees and clerical.

·       Oversee timely project completion and billing.

·       Identify ongoing projects for partial billing including schedules of values and pay applications where appropriate.

·       Complete job-related documents including, but not limited to proposals, sub-contracts, change orders, pay applications and lien releases for legal and billing purposes.

·       Provide daily job status reporting to Executive Management.

·       Assist, train and support team with subcontractor selection, negotiation, and job documentation.

·       Coordinate necessary safety training and certifications for staff.

·       Manage interoffice correspondence as well as material and equipment documentation exchange.

·       Review and approve materials and supplies orders and purchases.

·       Provide daily onsite leadership and direction for staff.

·       Oversee and manage all construction related activities and provide timeline for each job.

·       Support Senior Project Manager and Project Managers within each division with subcontractor selection and job buy-outs, helping with negotiations to maximize cost savings, and assist with subcontractor replacements, as needed.

·       Evaluate and oversee construction timelines for each project within the region. Close out all jobs in a timely manner for proper, accurate and timely billings.

·       Oversee office procedures and execution regarding safety, quality control, SWPPP, and FHA/ADA compliance.

·       Review with Senior Project Manager and Project Managers within each division to ensure all project turnovers to clients, including completion of punch-list items and ensure all walk-through forms are signed and completed for owner orientations and occupancy.

·       Handle escalated problems with subcontractors.

·       Review construction scopes to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Other Duties Include:

·       Review all proposals and subsequent presentations.

·       Ensure all subcontractors have been signed and insurance is in place prior to commencement of work.

Skills:

·       Complete understanding of the restoration, construction, roofing, and equipment rental industries.

·       Extensive knowledge of job cost and accrual accounting.

·       Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products and ERP systems.

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·       Knowledge of construction financial operations.

·       Proven risk management and contracting knowledge.

·       Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

 Qualifications:

 ·       Bachelor’s degree in construction management, business administration, or related field

·       Must have a vehicle and valid driver’s license
