Job DescriptionJob Description

The Outpatient Therapist is responsible for performing a variety of duties that aid in the recovery of patients with mental health issues and/or addictions. These duties include providing therapy sessions and developing a thorough understanding of client issues. An effective therapist will be able to analyze patient progress and make appropriate changes to treatment plans, as well as maintain accurate patient records that document progress. Agency has ability to provide supervision for those seeking to be licensed in the state of Virginia. Internship opportunities for Master's level students available.

Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe treatments as appropriate.
  • Work with patients and their families to create treatment plans and coordinate with other service providers.
  • Be knowledgeable about current laws, regulations, policies, and procedures that affect treatment.
  • Educate patients on proper care, such as how to take medications.
  • Document patient progress and communicate regularly with other members of the treatment team.
  • Provide patient referrals when necessary.
  • Participate in in-service training, continuing education courses, and staff meetings.

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

  • Master's (Required)

License/Certification:

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
