Job DescriptionJob Description

Certified Professional Midwife or Certified Nurse Midwife: a knowledgeable, skilled, and professional independent midwifery practitioner who has met the standards for certification set by the North American Registry of Midwives (NARM) or American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and is qualified to provide the Midwives Model of Care.

Pay Range: We use a Tiering System that considers several factors.  

Benefits Available for Full-Time Employees:

  • 1 week off-call per month
  • *limited* on-call childcare options available (depending on the age of the child(ren)

Professional Requirements: 

  • Minimum 2 years experience preferred, but not required
  • NARM Certified Professional Midwife or Certified Nurse Midwife
  • NRP Certification
  • Licensed Certified Professional Midwife through the state of Tennessee
  • Proficiency with medical instruments and equipment required to perform your work
  • Knowledge of computer data management programs and information systems, as well as medical records and charting
  • Sound understanding of all pertinent federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of disease prevention
  • Good listening skills
  • Excellent bedside manner, compassionate nature
  • Able to work with women from a variety of ages and backgrounds

Work Requirements:

  • Working vehicle 
  • Tools necessary to perform the job (this includes a working iPad)
  • Working cell phone
  • Scrubs to wear to births
  • Mandatory attendance at monthly midwifery meetings
