SUMMARY:

The Production Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling coordinating, and/or monitoring the flow of products through the complete production cycle. The Production Planner will forecast and plan capacity requirements to ensure alignment with departments and determine variances from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Review open sales orders to determine customer requirements.

  • Coordinate delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.

  • Utilize ERP system to auto‐generate manufacturing work orders.

  • Coordinate between Customer Support Center and Purchasing / Procurement on material shortages.

  • Notify Customer Service and/or Sales teams of any schedule impacts to customers.

  • Identify and troubleshoot production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity.

  • Coordinate and expedite production builds to ensure schedules are achieved.

  • Provide timely scheduling of production work orders to the production floor to achieve both internal financial goals and customer delivery dates.

  • Produce reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement.

  • Utilize manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics.

  • Complete status reports, such as production progress, customer information, and materials inventory.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders like Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans.

  • Exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.

  • Recommend process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities.

  • Confer with department Supervisors/Managers to determine progress of work, completion dates, and inventory levels; solve production problems.

  • Perform job closings before month-end in ERP system.

  • Other tasks and projects as assigned by Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline; or at least 5 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience with emphasis on manufacturing in the medical/bio-tech industry, or related regulated industry required
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience.

  • Excellent Microsoft Office programs skills with strong Excel skillset.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience tracking production efficiencies and reporting statistics to upper management.

  • In‐depth knowledge of ERP software systems required, Syteline experience is a plus.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to consolidate and analyze data, draw conclusions, and clearly communicate recommended solutions.

  • Ability to work effectively, manage time, and deliver results on time.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
