Job Summary

 

  • Certified Medical Assistant to coordinate surgeons schedules and assist patients with scheduling procedures.

  

General Duties

 

  • Coordinates surgical procedure date with patient and according to assigned providers templates.
  • Schedules and provides patient with details of preparation and or instructions.
  • Confirms and enter patient demographic information along with insurance information.
  • Obtains prior authorizations for scheduled procedures.
  • Reschedules as needed.
  • Utilizes providers schedules according to blocks.
  • Releases blocks not utilized timely in accordance with block policies.
  • Opens block schedules as needed to maximize provider schedules.
  • Maintains templates for assigned provider.
  • Responsible for entering assigned provider time off.
  • Performs a variety of routine clerical tasks.
  • Covers department during staff time/days off. 
  • Maintains clean and orderly area.

Job Qualifications

 

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous scheduling work-related experience
  • Medical Assistant certification required
  • Computer skills
  • EPIC experience a plus
