An industry leading plaintiffs’ law firm is seeking a certified Paralegal for its Irvine office.  The successful candidate will work in a team with 3 attorneys and 3 paralegals in a fast-paced but mutually respectful and supportive environment handling civil litigation on behalf of clients.  We are looking for a proactive team player who enjoys client and expert contact, managing case details, preparing pleadings, discovery and e-filing, document review, and research and analysis of data.  We need someone who appreciates being challenged and knows when to exercise independent judgment and when to ask questions.  While at least three years’ experience in civil litigation is preferred, we are open to a sharp candidate with less experience.

Familiarity with office software such as Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), Zoom and Adobe required.  The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to prepare basic legal documents and correspondence.  Knowledge of civil litigation rules, procedures, and deadlines is essential, and experience with legal calendaring systems, Lexis Nexis, and online court filing systems is greatly preferred. 

Essential functions include managing calendars, preparing and proofing documents and correspondence, handling client contact requiring discretion and judgment, facilitating filing and service of documents, maintaining complex case files in a digital format, scheduling meetings or legal proceedings, processing mail, answering e-mail and calls, and maintaining a working knowledge of the attorneys' practice area.  Individual may manage and participate in site work in the field as needed.  This applicant must have a valid California Driver’s License and clear DMV record. Ability to work overtime as needed.
