Admissions Outreach Specialist
Pay Rate: $21.00/hr
Purpose of Role/Temporary: The purpose of this role is to assist with the recruiting and outreach for the Office of Admissions Department by representing the college in the community and assisting with the overall goals of the department.
CONTRACT / PART TIME POSITION - 19 hours a week some evenings and weekends.
Job Duties/Key Responsibilities: Recruitment, Coordination, Outreach & Follow-up
1. Represent the College both on and off campus to prospective students, parents, secondary school counselors and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process.
2. Must create and grow a strong relationship with the community, which results in a positive and stable enrollment.
3. Develops a working relationship with faculty program coordinators and Counseling staff to maintain an on-going knowledge of programs as changes occur or obtain an understanding of newly created programs.
4. Develops an on-going relationship with high school officials and counselors to facilitate recruiting activities.
5. Schedules and conducts visits to schools, churches, and community groups to meet, develop and encourage communication, involvement, and enrollment with the college.
6. Counsels prospective applicants on the admissions process and opportunities at the college in person, on the telephone, via text and via email.
7. Gathers and ensures follow up on all inquiries in a timely manner.
8. Works to ensure recruitment fairs/events are identified and have appropriate coverage.
9. Conducts Admissions presentations on/off site.
10. Maintains contact with applicants from target areas utilizing all available communication tools to ensure completion of the application process and to facilitate an increase in the enrollment yield.
11. Assist in the preparation of and participate in all on campus recruiting events.
12. Assist with covering the Placement Office functions including but not limited to serving as a proctor on/off campus.
13. Responsible for responding to emails and data entry in a timely manner (24-48 hours)
14. Maintain accurate record keeping for weekly reporting
15. Set appointments and give tours for prospective students and their parent
16. Carries out other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
1. Associate Degree in Business, Marketing, or related required
2. Microsoft (word, excel and PowerPoint, etc.)
3. Google applications (google doc, google sheet, google slide, etc.)
4. Time management skills
5. Interpersonal skills
6. Experience with working with a diverse population of students
7. Reliable Transportation
Preferred Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. Experience working in higher education or sales
