Our Healthcare client has an immediate need:

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

  1. Provides Psychological services to children and adolescents. Will see up to 15-20 patients a day -all outpatient, no weekends
  2. Assesses patient's physical and psychosocial health/illness status through history taking and physical examination.
  3. Practices within the collaborative model with physicians, nurse practitioners, and behavioral health providers.
  4. Diagnoses manages and appropriately refers patients for psychological testing and evaluations according to department protocols.
  5. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests according to established guidelines.
  6. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed psychologist conditions.
  7. Follows established departmental policies, procedures, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, or infection control standards.
  8. As appropriate to the position, participates in specified health promotion, education, and prevention programs.
  9. Ability to observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress.
  10. Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of medical care.
  11. Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical patient care aids and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage.
  12. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
  13. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in area of medical expertise.
  14. Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in area of expertise
  15. Facilitates and coordinates patient care referrals to specialists and outside agencies.
  16. Develops and provides educational materials and/or programs to patients, families, and other health care professionals at the Center.
  17. Assumes formal teaching responsibilities within the area of expertise and precepts nurse practitioner students, medical students, and residents as appropriate.
  18. May participate in medical and nursing research.
  19. Participates in defining nursing standards, practices, and educational needs of patient care staff
  20. May share call responsibilities of the service.
  21. Ability to maintain quality and safety.
  22. Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of medical/ Psychological expertise.
  23. Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for delivering psychological evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment in an area of expertise.
  24. Actively participates in the departmental quality assurance program.
  25. Serves on appropriate department and hospital committees.
  26. Performs other related duties as required and as assigned.
  27. Managing patient care is a team effort that involves clinical and non-clinical staff interacting with patients.
  28. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the health center's mission.
  29. Demonstrate understanding and commitment to the established CHC Values and Standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Massachusetts Licensed Registered Nurse required.
  • Certified in Massachusetts to practice in the expanded role as a Psychiatric/Psychological Practitioner required
  • Certified in CPR/AED or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated mastery of a specialty area or other related field usually acquired by 3-5 years of progressively responsible nursing experience preferred.
