The Fire Alarm and Security System Technician is responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems and resolving any problems. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm and security products, supporting software, and electrical systems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Alarms and associated systems
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
  • Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed
  • Ensure timely job completion
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
  • Take turns in On-Call rotation
  • May Mentor Fire and / or Security technicians on tools and technology

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes
  • Minimum 2 years’ field experience in inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security system systems
  • Extensive knowledge of low voltage systems
  • Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
  • High Level of Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision

 

Experience Level:

Intermediate Level
