Bookkeeper

 

 

Responsibilities of Bookkeeper:

  • Process and maintain accurate records of all accounts receivable and payable transactions.
  • Monitor account balances, follow up on overdue payments, and handle customer inquiries promptly.
  • Apply payments accurately to customer accounts and reconcile any discrepancies in financial records.
  • Initiate collection efforts for delinquent accounts and maintain professional customer interactions.
  • Assist with general office operations, including managing office supplies and equipment.
  • Load data into the new ERP system (Epicor) and assist in reconciling insurance bills with payroll records.
  • Support HR with administrative tasks, payroll support, and record maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct daily cash account reconciliations and monitor weekly cash balances.
  • Manage weekly check runs, and handle tax-related duties including issuing 1099 forms.
  • Post monthly journal entries and assist with general ledger accounting, audit preparation, and reconciliations.

 

Preferred Experience of Bookkeeper:

  • 2+ years of related experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, comfortable with making collection calls.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Comfortable with making collection calls.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Epicor – Preferred but not necessary.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
