Our client is looking for a Plant Manager with experience working in a metal fabrication shop to run their manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Main function includes running metal fabrication shop and managing the interactions between Engineering, Purchasing and Manufacturing.
  • The successful candidate will plan, organize, lead and control the flow of work through the company departments in a timely manner while ensuring Quality and On-Time Delivery.
  • Manage the shop workflow, set priorities, and ensure on-time performance
  • Review and Approve Fabrication Drawings
  • Participate in the Make Vs Buy decisions
  • Communicate with Subcontractors, Outside Fabricators
  • Maintain proper Raw Material level to support production
  • Place PO with Subcontractors
  • Run Weekly and Daily schedules
  • Provide on-the-job assistance to technicians
  • Review and check assemblies for accuracy and excellence in workmanship
  • Accomplish and Maintain High Production Standards
  • Ensure that Technicians follow procedures and processes
  • Administer Safety Policies and Procedures

Minimum Requirements:

  • Lean Manufacturing Experience
  • Experience in managing Union Shop employees
  • CNC experience
  • Waterjet technology experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and MS Project
  • 3D modeling (preferred Autodesk Inventor), 2D AutoCAD
