POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for conducting a safe and productive job site by efficiently utilizing the resources provided to this position by the company to maximize daily profitability. This position involves physical labor. The position assists the Operator/Foreman in the scope of work. Active participation is required and expected. Understanding of scope of work is important and helpful in assisting Operator/Foreman. Assists area personnel and completes special assignments as needed.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Assumes responsibility for the timely and effective performance of operations procedures. 
  • Job site safety. 
  • Complete paperwork in a timely manner. 
  • Maintain a clear and productive worksite. 
  • Maintain tools and insure vehicles are in working order. 
  • Prompt and clear communications with management team, customers, and Operators/Foreman 
  • Assumes responsibility for the efficient, timely, and accurate completion of operations. 
  • Time Management: Maximize billable hours per day 
  • Monitor and track all additional site requirements and change orders for billing 
  • Write down tools and materials needed for the following day 
  • Reads and interprets plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities. 
  • Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned. 
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. 
  • Controls traffic passing near, in, and around work zones. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Foreman and Field Operations Manager. 
  • Signals Operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials. 
  • Digs ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, mechanical tampers, rakes and installs pipe and utilities. 
  • Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools, and distributes them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. 
  • Timecard filled out properly each day.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • High school degree or equivalent; training in maintenance and repair operations and safety certification may be required. 
  • Knowledge of basic operations. 
  • Knowledge of machine operating procedures. Basic Understanding of equipment. 
  • Understanding of production operations. 
  • One or more years of experience in a production environment preferred. 
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the operation. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
