Big Woods Franklin is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to be a part of our culinary team.

Assistant Kitchen Manager Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Leadership: Effectively contribute to the management and coordination of the heart of the house, supporting the kitchen's needs. This includes monitoring, training, and developing kitchen staff, delegating tasks, and following up with team members.

  • Service Flow Optimization: Establish weekly scheduling and training plans to ensure the seamless flow of service in all kitchen stations. Contribute to the training and development of Big Woods employees.

  • Inventory and Procurement: Assist in inventory control, including ordering, rotation, monitoring, and accepting product deliveries, with a focus on minimizing waste.

  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain and enforce high standards of cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant, including the bar, floors, tables, and the entire front-of-house.

  • Financial Oversight: Take responsibility for cash handling and manage other receipts.

  • Customer Service: Be proficient in all areas of the front-of-house to ensure guests receive a warm welcome and timely, accurate service. Provide assistance with any customer service needs.

  • Ad Hoc Responsibilities: Be adaptable and ready to tackle additional tasks and duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a kitchen setting.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen and restaurant environment for extended periods.

  • Current Serv-Safe Certification required.
