About Bark Social:

Dogs. Beer. Coffee – Bark Social brings out the fun between dogs and humans with a private, monitored off-leash dog park and an indoor/outdoor beer garden & coffee bar. Featuring a play space, casual eating and curated dog merchandise, our goal is to engage, delight, and support the dog-loving communities we serve.

Bark Social has an aggressive nationwide growth plan. It launched its first location in Bethesda, Maryland in February of 2021, and will open its second location in Baltimore, Maryland in early 2022. Locations three, four and five are in the works.

Our need:

We are looking for two Assistant General Managers. Our current locations are Baltimore and Bethesda, and we are looking to open locations in Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and Northern Virginia in the next 12 months. AGMs will be in store 50 hours a week.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Leadership - In-store
    • Manage and create positive, working relationships with all representatives, vendors, teammates, etc
    • Lead daily shift meetings and be knowledgeable of all upcoming specials, events, daily/weekly focuses, etc.
    • Review staff quarterly, conduct employee surveys quarterly
    • Ensure all standard operating procedures are being followed at all times
    • Maintain positive teammate morale
  • Hiring, scheduling, and training
    • Hire and train all new employees
    • Ensure all training manuals are adhered to
    • Train hourly staff train new staff (“train the trainer”)
    • Set schedules for all employees
    • Review schedule and payroll
  • Support
    • Provides floor coverage for the busiest of shifts, and can support any position at any time

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has managed or assisted in managing a ~$3M/year restaurant/bar before
  • Is a clear communicator and able to easily convey information both in written form and verbally
  • Is organized, can set and execute on standard operating processes, and has a keen eye for detail
  • Is eager to learn new skills and has the ability to pick things up and execute new things quickly, including but not limited to: new software, changes in processes and special projects
  • Is able to handle multiple requests with grace and poise
  • Is able to proactively prioritize tasks
  • Able to form and manage high level relationships
  • Has experience executing excellent customer service
  • Has hospitality experience
  • Has experience training and leading a team
  • Is willing to work nights and weekends

Salary & Benefits:

  • Starting at 18/hr
  • We offer benefits after 90 days of employment: 50% of Carefirst health insurance premiums, 401k match up to 4%, PTO, etc.
