Overview:
The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute (ARMI) is a Member-based, non-profit organization headquartered in Manchester, New Hampshire whose mission is to advance the bioeconomy of the United States. Bringing together the disciplines of biochemistry, advanced manufacturing, medicine, and engineering, ARMI is advancing new regenerative therapies through cutting-edge manufacturing techniques, while also building the biofabrication industry's workforce. As a part of this effort, ARMI is working to close the educational skills gaps in tissue engineering and organ manufacturing through accessible education and training opportunities. As such, ARMI is seeking an Education & Workforce Development (EWD) Educator to drive and coordinate educational project efforts and related activities.
Position Description:
ARMI is working to build a progressive and inclusive talent pipeline to grow the biofabrication workforce at all levels and continues to invest heavily in educational resources and hands-on experiences for various audiences and age groups. An experienced Educator would deliver biofabrication curriculum to a broad range of learners. The position requires excellent responsiveness to the needs of students, educators, individuals, and teams within ARMI and throughout its ecosystem. To be successful in this role, candidates need strong experience and exceptional interpersonal skills, and the Educator will also be responsible for leading Train the Trainer activities to expand the program.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver biofabrication-related curriculum in classroom and non-classroom settings (e.g., summer camps, community programs, etc.) throughout New England.
- Forge strong relationships with educational partners and ensure positive student outcomes.
- Assist in creating and deploying educational outreach materials, curriculum, kits, and associated training materials.
- Support the team in community outreach and program recruitment activities (e.g., conferences, events, career fairs, etc.) to raise awareness of fabrication-related curricula.
- Raise awareness of the two-year and four-year educational pathways leading to employment in biofabrication.
- Inform individuals of all backgrounds about nontraditional educational opportunities, including those that do not require a college degree, that can lead to life-long careers in the industry.
- Engage with experts in the ARMI ecosystem to continuously learn about advances in biofabrication and career opportunities in this industry. Employ this knowledge in the classroom and enhance the curriculum.
- Track and report on program metrics, as requested.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Preferred Competencies:
- BA/BS or higher in a biology-related field of study.
- 3+ years of classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, long-term working relationships with colleagues, educators, and community leaders.
- Experience with the design of curriculum, laboratory activities, and educational manipulatives
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to successfully manage and adjust to changing priorities and resources.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including those needed to present to diverse populations.
- Ability/willingness to engage in frequent local travel and occasional overnight travel.
- Industry knowledge relating to the related industries and clinical settings.
- Experience with various technology platforms, including Microsoft Office, Monday.com, WordPress, and more.
