Were looking for a CNC machinist to come join our team in Livermore, CA. This position will be a 6 month contract-to-hire role. Were a small, tight-knit shop where everyone is hands-on in multiple aspects of the company. Your initial primary responsibility will be to operate our CNC mills (3 axis and 5 axis). As you progress in this role, there is lots of opportunity to learn new skills including lathe machining, programming, EDM machining, and other areas.

The ideal candidate for this role would be a recent graduate of a Machinist training program.

Were looking for an experienced Journeyman CNC machinist to come join our team in Livermore, CA. Were a small, tight-knit shop where everyone is hands-on in multiple aspects of the company. Your initial primary responsibility will be to program and operate our CNC mills (3 axis and 5 axis). Depending upon experience, responsibilities may expand to include lathe machining, EDM machining, and other areas.

Requirements
  • 15+ years experience operating a CNC mill (experience operating a lathe is a plus)
  • 5+ years experience CNC programming (MasterCam preferred)
  • Comfortable setting up and operating a CNC mill without supervision
  • Able to keep multiple machines running
  • Able to calculate feeds and speeds
  • Able to understand G code
  • Understanding of different types of materials, their grades and relative machinability
  • Able to read and understand shop drawings
  • Able to lift 25+lbs, push heavy carts or crates, and can stretch, reach, kneel, or crawl as may be required by certain tasks
  • Monitor machinery in order to identify necessary maintenance or safety issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
