Summary: The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for the assembly of salable product. This will include the use of soldering, gluing and the use of test equipment.

Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
  2. Assemble end use field instrument products.
  3. Calibration or recertification of product.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

This position requires:

  • The ability to effectively communicate and interface with many corporate, customer, and employee levels.
  • The ability to read and apply technical data.
  • The ability to deal with problems involving variables in routine situations.
  • The ability to apply strict confidentiality rules to daily workload.
  • The ability to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • The ability to lift 50+ lbs, sufficient strength to use torque wrenches in final assembly
  • The ability to solder electrical wire.
  • Visual inspection of assembled parts.
  • Assure accuracy of product packaging.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work environment.

Application: Basic hand tool proficiency, experience with optical assembly and safety, light technical skills, working with Outlook.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually light to moderate.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED. 4 years of experience in a technical repair or manufacturing job. Optical, electrical, and metrology experience preferred.
