Family Advocate

Family & Children's Place, based in Louisville, KY, is looking to hire a full-time Family Advocate to provide case management services to children and their families. This human services position earns competitive pay of $20.12 and a sign-on bonus of $300. We also offer great benefits, including medical, dental, vision, a 403(b) plan, paid time off (PTO), vacation time, paid sick time, up to 10 paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FAMILY ADVOCATE

As a Family Advocate in the Child Advocacy Center, you play a key role in providing case management for children and families. You serve as an advocate for child victims of sexual abuse and other forms of child maltreatment as well as their non-offending family members, to help them navigate trauma and heal. In addition, you provide crisis intervention and information that will benefit the individual you're working with. When needed, you offer referral services so your clients are aware of the different available resources. You approach each case with compassion and empathy to ensure the children and families you work with feel comfortable around you. Being able to make a direct, positive impact on your clients' lives brings you great fulfillment and motivates you to put forth your best effort each day in this social work position


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FAMILY ADVOCATE

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of mental health, education, human services, or criminal justice
  • 1 year of experience working in criminal justice or human services
