Featuring a charming downtown, comfortable coastal weather, idyllic views, and an active lifestyle San Luis Obispo offers much to be had.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Assesses appropriateness of admission status and level of care, using InterQual criteria. Provides discharge planning services, coordinating with patients, families, and community agencies. Collaborates with medical staff in assuring appropriate utilization of hospital resources and expediting high quality patient care. Ten hour shifts with an occasional weekend in rotation. Knowledge of InterQual criteria and Medicare Conditions of Participation preferred. Basic computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and navigating the Internet are necessary.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Work Experience:
- Associate's Degree or Equivalent: Required
- 3-5 years of nursing experience in an acute care hospital setting: Required
- Recent experience in utilization review, discharge planning, and/or inpatient case management: Preferred
- Knowledge and use of InterQual criteria: Preferred
- Basic computer skills in WORD, EXCEL, navigating the internet, opening and sending an email: Preferred
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medi-Cal conditions of participation: Preferred
- BA/BS: Preferred
Licenses and Certifications:
- Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association: Required
- Current State of California RN license: Required
ORGANIZATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
