Position Overview:

Our client is looking for a Data Scientist who will support data integration and analysis services as well as system deployment and management efforts. The Data Scientist will be responsible for the enterprise-wide integration and preparation of large and varied datasets, architecting specialized database environments, and communicating results for data-driven decisions. 

Required Skills:
  • 5 years of Data Scientist experience
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, Postgres, Cassandra, etc.
  • Experience with cloud-based data services such as AWS (EC2, Glue, EMR, RDS, Redshift) and/or Azure (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks)
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, R, Java, C++, Scala
  • Experience with data visualization tools, especially Power BI
  • Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka
  • Experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools: Azkaban, Luigi, Airflow
  • Experience with data integration services solutions from vendors such as Informatica, MuleSoft, Talend, TIBCO
  • Demonstrable experience with manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large, disconnected datasets
  • Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems or related quantitative field
Duties:
  • Develop capabilities to manage, analyze, visualize, and extract valuable insights from large and diverse datasets to generate research findings that influence decisions. 
  • Creates dashboards and other data visualization products to communicate data insights to diverse audiences using software applications such as R, Python, Power BI, Tableau, and SAS.
  • Designs and implements methods for collecting and managing data from various sources.
  • Ensures data integrity and quality through regular cleaning and validation processes.
  • Uses predictive modeling, statistics, data mining, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structured and unstructured data.
  • Researches and deploys statistical and machine learning models for data analysis.
  • Define and establish data science-driven business analytics using extensive statistical analysis, including explanatory and predictive modeling. 
  • Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve analytics problems and communicate results and methodologies.
  • Identifies the technical constraints and challenges related to complex workflow components of big data systems, including ETL, lifecycle management, analytics, and visualization.
  • Combine business focus, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and programming knowledge to rapidly progress through the analytical phase of research projects.
  • Provide technical assistance by assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business area requirements.
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements (e.g. automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability).
  • Keeps data separated and secure across entity boundaries such as data centers and cloud environments, ensuring compliance with applicable statutes, policies, and data-sharing agreements.
  • Works with data and analytics professionals to strive for greater functionality in our data systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
