Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our finance team in our Irving, TX office. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, including but not limited to financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and reconciliation of accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be proficient in accounting software and MS Excel, and have a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Requirements:Key Responsibilities will include:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, revenue and bank reconciliations.
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
- Assist with the annual audit process by providing supporting documentation.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Education and Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
- Experience in a multi-unit restaurant, retail or multi-site consumer business preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct) and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word.)
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
