Role: Associate Sales Representative
Reports to: Director, Sales
FLSA: Exempt
Location: Field -Madison, WI
Why this role is important at Genesee Scientific?
Our Associate Sale Representative is responsible for the sales of research products within a defined territory. You will develop and maintain effective customer relations, drive opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic entry level professional who is looking to begin their sales career with a rapidly growing company.
What will you do:
- You will assume overall territory ownership to develop and maintain effective customer relationships with purchasing and clients. Develops strategies and implements plans to achieve annual sales and gross margin targets. Manage pricing within territory to drive financial targets.
- Independently make decisions, but also utilize available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data into the business plan.
- Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory,
- Communicates any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by manager.
- Inform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control, consult with customers.
- Positively represent Genesee Scientific at all times throughout customer locations.
What you will bring:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization. Ability to develop negotiation and presentation skills.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with colleagues to identify customer needs.
- Results orientated, strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Works efficiently within deadlines.
- Typically works in a home office environment with extensive regional travel to customer locations; Overnight travel may be required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Minimal physical effort is required. Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
