Join SMRT's Interior Design group and be part of our innovative team. Collaborate through the integrated design process with experts across architecture, mechanical, structural, electrical, and site disciplines to craft creative solutions from concept to completion. Immerse yourself in projects that encompass space planning, material selection, lighting design, and color theory, directly impacting user experience, well-being, and sustainability.

What our Interior Designers Do:

  • Work with project teams and clients throughout all phases of design and construction to establish project goals, objectives, and design direction for interiors.
  • Actively participate in presentations and meetings with clients.
  • Research, product selection, finishes, specifications, including furniture specifications and packages.
  • Develop presentation material including concepts and 3D renderings/visualization.
  • Produce detailed construction documentation including plans, elevations, and details that support the design.
  • Participate in quality review of projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Contribute to the overall culture and success of SMRT.

Skills you need to be successful in this role:

  • High proficiency with Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented, good listening skills and the ability to produce high-quality work on time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to prioritize work based on workload and project demands.
  • Collaborative mindset, good listener, curious and proactive.
  • Strong understanding of applicable codes, materials, standards, and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of design software such as Enscape and Sketch-Up preferred.
  • Knowledge of sustainable materials and practices preferred.

Requirements:
  • Degree in Interior Design from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial interior design.
  • Experience across multiple markets preferred.
  • NCIDQ certified or actively working toward certification
