Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSummaryPunch press operators are responsible for setting up and operating a punch press and other miscellaneous machines.  The job includes setting up and running parts to OnePointe Solutions’ quality standards, ensuring press is in good operating conditions, properly documenting properly filled out all required paperwork, and area is kept clean and orderly. Operators will be responsible for all work performed in this department from scheduling, setup, inspection, washing, and trucking their own parts and other duties with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Acquire tooling as appropriate for job and set up machine. After punch press operation, remove tooling and transfer tooling back to respective locations as appropriate. Punch press operation.Ability to read and follow blueprints, routings, manufacturing instruction sheets, inspection cards and drawings. Inspect for various defects during operation of presses, and accurately document such inspections using an inspection card. Ability to troubleshoot and correct defective parts. Segregate defects and communicate to Supervisor or Quality Department.Ability to learn and use various measurement and testing equipment (CMM, Height gauges, hardness tester, micrometers, calipers, 6 rule, etc..)Ability to become a certified forklift operator.Ability to identify operational problems and ask for assistance.
