In this leadership role, you will design, develop, and implement learning solutions for external customers. You will lead a team of ISDs and (SMEs) to ensure the delivery of high-quality training programs.

Duties:

  • Lead the ISD process for our client's team, including eLearning modules, instructor-led training (ILT), blended learning programs, and performance support tools (PSTs).
  • Lead the execution of training needs assessments, analyze learning objectives, and develop learning strategies aligned with industry best practices and adult learning principles.
  • Manage and mentor a team of instructional designers, providing guidance and support on project execution and instructional design principles.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to gather subject matter expertise and ensure content accuracy.
  • Develop high-quality learning materials, including storyboards, scripts, multimedia elements, and assessments.
  • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in learning and development.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources
  • May manage one or more subcontractors developing courseware
  • Identify and implement innovative learning solutions to enhance the learning experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with defense education and training programs.
  • Minimum five years of experience as an instructional designer, with at least two years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Proven track record of designing and developing effective learning solutions across various modalities (eLearning, ILT, blended learning).
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models (ADDIE, etc.).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a team of instructional designers.
  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) preferred.
