LOCAL St. Louis area candidates only will be considered.

Controller for a privately held process manufacturer located near downtown St. Louis. Reporting to the CFO, this role will oversee and support accounting team with leadership that creates an environment of trust and productivity.
This position requires experience in the manufacturing industry and an understanding of accounting and controls around industry. In addition candidates should bring a strong foundation in accounting principles and practices, with the ability to manage a team and work collaboratively across departments. The ideal candidate will contribute to the overall financial health and growth of the organization through effective leadership and financial expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Timely and accurate financial close processes.
  • Compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Supervise the preparation and completion of bank reconciliations.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls .
  • Oversee inventory accounting and ensure accurate tracking and valuation of inventory.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations.



Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of full cycle accounting, including inventory management, bank reconciliations, and payroll.
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced MS Excel skills
