Summary of Position:

The Manager Enterprise Infrastructure is responsible for leading a team in the development, implementation, and support of the company’s IT infrastructure. Key areas of responsibility include managing data center operations (whether on premise or cloud), LAN/WAN, telecommunications, on-premise IT equipment, and security functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Leadership of team of IT infrastructure staff that are not co-located.
  • Maintain high morale and motivate team members to go above and beyond the minimum requirements.
  • Develop overall infrastructure vision and systems architecture (e.g., on premises / public / hybrid cloud, vendors / partners).
  • Align IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives.
  • Ensure consistency and use of best practices in design and build of infrastructure.
  • Manage any outsourced resources in support of IT infrastructure including price negotiation.
  • Manage on-premise servers, phone systems, networking equipment and any other technology infrastructure located in our facilities
  • Manage LAN/WAN & Telecommunications.
  • Provide direction to the Service Delivery organization (help desk and PC support) on standards and practices relative to PC/Tablets, printers, and other personal technology.
  • Develop and maintain policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure appropriate security and IT infrastructure practices are applied across the company.
  • Provide input on operating budgets as well as capital budgets.
  • Purchase IT assets, track expenditures, and ensure associated licensing is sufficiently in place.
  • Ensure IT security consistent with best practices; this includes malware protection, MFA, intrusion detection/prevention, email security, SIEM and related services, coordinating security assessments, etc.
  • Maintain and regularly test backups.
  • Maintain and regularly test a disaster recovery solution.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology to increase revenue, increase employee productivity and/or reduce costs.
  • Partner with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions.
  • Occasional travel to various company locations is required in support of the responsibilities above.

Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • Demonstrated excellence in leading IT Infrastructure team members.
  • Five plus years of experience in designing, building, and operating IT infrastructure in a mid-market or larger organization.
  • Experience with designing, building, and operating solutions using hybrid and public cloud technologies.
  • Experience with Server and Application virtualization.
  • Experience with Cisco networking technology and VOIP Phone Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies: Active Directory, Azure, Entra, Exchange, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirements.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineering
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills to establish vision, plans, and status with the ability to interact with executives, team members, and the user community as needed.
  • Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype.
  • Strong negotiation skills with respect to IT vendors.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Preferred Requirements:

Experience:

  • Five years demonstrated excellence in leading IT infrastructure team members
  • Ten years experience in designing, building, and operating IT infrastructure in a mid-market or larger organization.
  • Understanding of ITIL
