A little bit about the role:

ORBCOMM is looking for a vibrant and self-motivated VP Sales to join our team. The VP Sales will be responsible for selling ORBCOMM products and services. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for managing a team of Business Development Managers, attaining quarterly sales targets, developing and maintaining key customer relationships, establishing strategic business relations and providing ideas for all sales plans and their implementation. We are looking for someone with a creative mind and good communication skills. This role will be reporting to the SVP North America Sales.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Business Development Managers
  • Formulate the strategic vision
  • Translate this vision into an operational sales plan and result-oriented actions
  • Professionalize and optimize processes and procedures where needed
  • Discussing and monitoring the progress of sales and other objectives
  • Establish effective customer relationships with existing customers to understand the customer needs
  • Identify new prospects that meet the qualifying criteria, with the objective of supplying the company’s services to them, to generate growth with focus on high return and profitable opportunities.
  • Report on competitor activities and the competitive landscape
  • Produce regular reporting of new opportunities to ensure correct forecasting is maintained
  • Compile monthly sales review and forecasts against agreed targets
  • Utilize leadership and management skills to close gaps between actual and forecasted results
  • Match team skills and talent to tasks to ensure optimal engagement and performance
  • Provide direction to the team on closing new business with existing accounts
  • Provides employees with coaching, feedback, and developmental opportunities to enhance their skills, motivation, and performance
  • Establishes and maintain relationships and effectively communicate with customers, business unit leaders and senior management to raise visibility and ensure collaboration with appropriate key stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as directed by executive leadership team


Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive Sales Management in IoT and/or Satellite/Connectivity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Must be willing to travel nationally on an ongoing basis
  • Computer Literacy, intermediate to advanced in terms of MS Teams, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and SFDC
  • Geographical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, carry out assignments, meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude
