Toolmaker (Precision Plastic Components)


Pave Talent is hiring on behalf of our client, a leading player in the medical manufacturing industry. We are seeking a skilled Toolmaker to join their team, bringing expertise and precision to their advanced manufacturing operations.


Position Summary: Under the direction of the Plant Manager, the Toolmaker will plan, lay out, and execute machining operations to construct, alter, and repair tools, dies, fixtures, molds, and gauges. This role requires handling complex designs with close tolerances and exacting finish requirements.

Pay rate: $35 to $39/hr depending on experience, plus a 3-4% quarterly earnings bonus

Location: Butler, WI


Key Responsibilities:


  • Organize and determine work procedures and sequences, selecting materials per specifications.
  • Perform advanced machining operations requiring intricate setups, often improvising tooling and machines.
  • Construct temporary fixtures and grind special-purpose tools, improvising measuring devices as needed.
  • Conduct critical bench operations to maintain and repair molds, ensuring precise fitting and alignment.
  • Design new tooling and fixtures for plastic parts, even without detailed specifications.
  • Set up and trial new or modified tools and dies, instructing operators on their use and care.
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, ensuring dimensional accuracy and mechanical efficiency.


Qualifications:


  • Comprehensive knowledge of tool making, machining technology, mechanical principles, advanced mathematics, layout, and precision measuring procedures.
  • Understanding of material characteristics and treatment applications.
  • Completion of an accredited Tool and Die Maker Apprenticeship program.
  • Up to 3 years of diversified tool and die-making experience.
